Our Annual Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year. We receive no public funding, money raised goes toward educational programming for the youth of Bandera County. The Gala offers you an opportunity to support the museum and our mission with a silent and live auction while enjoying a catered dinner and open bar.
For over 90 years, Frontier Times Museum has served Bandera County with:
Educational Programs-The museum offers free educational programs for local and area schools and homeschoolers, as well as Family Activity Days that spark inspiration and love of Texas history. Every year, the museum serves over 2,000 students in Bandera and our surrounding counties.
Research Facility-The museum maintains the Bandera County Historical Commission archives along with its own reference library and extensive collection of historical photographs and documents on the history of frontier life, which are available to the public at no charge.
History-Founded by J. Marvin Hunter in 1933, the museum is one of the oldest history museums in the state of Texas. We are owned by the residents of Bandera County.
Cultural Programs-The museum hosts a wide variety of cultural offerings such as local musical jamborees, author talks, and events that celebrate our uniquely Texas traditions.
